February 2025
Enroll by February 5
Upon the completion of this Quarter, students will be able to decipher any Yiddish printed text on sight, having mastered both the printed and the cursive Yiddish alphabet. With a strong command of the fundamentals of Yiddish grammar and a significant vocabulary, students will also be able to speak on topics of interest, including health, family, things in the past, and friendships, and express likes and dislikes. In addition, students will have learned the fundamentals of reading and writing short Yiddish texts, as well as listening comprehension skills that open up the world of Yiddish music.
Note: Students who wish to enroll after the enrollment date will be accepted, but students are strongly encouraged to enroll by the enrollment date. Early enrollment can guarantee that a class has met its minimum enrollment to run and can allow students to participate in selecting a meeting time.
